We are dedicated to rescuing dogs from high kill shelters in the tri-state area; welcoming them into our homes where they are loved and cared for; finding forever homes through careful screening and companion matching; and reducing the number of dogs entering the shelter system through public education.

Who We Are

Shelter Survivors is a 501 (C)(3) rescue group.
We rescue dogs that have been turned over to high kill shelters in the tri-state area. Many of these dogs have wonderful temperaments, yet they face the risk of euthanasia simply due to overcrowding in our local shelters. Shelter Survivors’ dogs live in foster homes until they find their permanent homes. They are integrated into our homes so that we can have a better understanding of who they are, which gives us the opportunity to match families up with our dogs so a home really is forever!
